Not so nice if it keeps you awake until four in the morning. Perhaps I should have got up and done something useful rather than lying there hoping it would stop soon.

Thunderstorms are no fun when you have a nervous dog. I'm glad we haven't had any yet. However I've been hoping for some rain in the last 48 hours from all this turbulence in the atmosphere, but there's not been a sniff of it. The poor old garden is starting to look sad despite all the watering we give it. This has been the driest spell I can remember since the mid-70s. I feel like Jean de Florette!

Maybe it's because our senses are more attuned to danger in the middle of the night so storms seem more apocalyptic and frightening, but when you get a big electrical storm like last night you half expect to open the curtains to a scene of destruction in the morning - smouldering ruins at the very least. It's almost a disappointment when all there is to show for all that violence in the night is a toppled pot plant in the garden and puddles in the street.

Nice images, always wanted to take some lightening images but have never been where I could safe get a clear set up.
