I was browsing through my latest B&H e-mail newsletter today and stumbled on the optical viewfinder for the new Nikon A compact, APS-C, fixed-lens camera. Price: $379.

I'll never complain about the Ricoh GR's $219 viewfinder again.

Don't complain about the Nikon. The one for the Sony RX1 is only $1 shy of $600.

Yes, but the OVF for the Nikon is about 35% of the cost of the camera, whereas the OVF for the Sony RX1 is "only" 21% of the cost of the camera. It's a bargain!!!

What is the magnification of the Sigma one? I cannot find it on B&H or Sigma's website...

These are just dumb OVFs, they're totally interchangeable. Get the cheapest one you like. The only ones that might be LESS compatible are the Ricoh versions, which I think we're both designed around the older GRD models, which were all 4:3 cameras and the framelines should be 4:3, while all of these APS cameras are 3:2. So the Ricoh OVFs may bit have incompatible framelines with its own new camera.

    Sigma VF-11 is for 3:2 ratio. I got one at $80 :)
