One of the areas I live close to is the Oceano Sand Dunes Preserve. It's a lovely place to go for a walk and take pictures. The dunes are one of my muses -- I return frequently to test new ideas and try to get better. I find on every trip I make to this location I find new ideas to explore. In such an environment any camera will do really, although sand and wind can ruin a nice body or lens. So I always bring a windbreaker and never change lenses except when it's completely still. Thanks for looking!

WOW ... I love all three Stan!! They are great. The different lines really set up the photos. Looking forward to more.

Just great! A place like that offers tons of possibilities, I guess.

Really like #1 and #2 especially -- but they are all outstanding. Very nice compositions.

Great stuff Stan. I love the first, the b&w tones work really well to accentuate the shapes and lines of the dunes and, of course, the horse and rider adds a whole other level of interest.

I love them all. I wish I had taken them.

PS- For the movie fanatics ... this is near, (a few miles south), where DeMille built and later buried the entire Pharaoh's palace and city for his movie The Ten Commandants. Instead of demolishing the buildings he just buried the entire set. Only recently, has his set been found.

Following an old link from PDH I watched this clip about Edward Weston this week

His photos of California dunes made me want to get down to the beach & try my hand. (maybe next week)

But seeing these EPM2 shots now I think I'd better just keep them to myself.
  16. neat shots, especially the second one.

Lovely film! I haven't seen it before. I recognize many of the places, and feel fortunate to have been able to experience them.

Please share! We all learn from each other!
