Micro 4/3 Fill flash with LUMIX LX model

I’m the happy owner of the Lumix LX5, great outdoor shots etc. I also have an Olympus XZ-2. While I think this Olympus camera is not as great as the LX5 for outdoors photo’s because of the lesser optical quality (a lot of CA ), the Olympus has a great fill flash setting that gives just the right combination of ambient light and flash every time. You can just choose one of the auto modes like A or S and determine the output of the flash 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 etc.

If I want to fill flash with the LX5 I have to set it on M and measure the light in order to get a balanced photo combination ambient light and flash. If I set it on A or S the subject is lit like a spotlight.I thought these camera’s have both leaf shutters and they should work similar if it comes to fill flash but I see that this is not the case.

Is there someone on this forum who knows both cams and can explain to me why the fill flash result is so different for me? Hope you can give me some advice.

Thanks,
Jeroen
