Hello,
How are you?
I will be going on Honeymoon on the end of the month and would like to buy a new camera to take with me.
I have my eye on the Sony RX1, now that the prices have dropped.
From what I read, the lens is one of the best 35mm out there. And the weeding between the lens and the sensor is top class.
The sensor is supposed to offer excellent dynamic range, low light capability and general IQ.
The other option is get a Fuji XE-1 with the 18-55 zoom and then get the 56mm 1.2.
The total price will be roughly the same.
I don't want to go the DSLR route, so that is not an option.
I just want a practical camera that does not get in the way. I am not travelling to take pictures. I want to enjoy my trip and take a few pictures.
I am torn, because I think the RX1 is the ultimate in IQ, but it is limited to 35mm FOV. That scares me a bit because I like to take portraits and the 35mm is too wide.
The XE-1 has an EVF, can take various lenses, like the excellent 23mm 1.4, 35mm 1.4, 56mm 1.2... Can do UWA shooting with the 10-24...
But it is bigger, heavier, and could get more expensive over time when GAS installs itself for new lenses...
The RX1 is supposed to be king on the 35mm FOV, but it is limited to 35mm...
But it is practical, just one camera to take, doesn't need a bag to carry lenses and accessories...
I just don't know what to do...
For a casual everyday camera and travel, what option would you choose?
Please help me out here. If I want a new camera for my trip, I have to order on the next couple of days...
Cheers!
