Game night: NEX-5 vs Vancouver Canucks.

    Took the NEX to a hockey game last night.
    For whatever reason, I was not allowed to use a lens longer than 50mm.

    This was shot with a Canon FD 50mm ƒ1.4.

    The shot itself was pretty boring so I went ahead with some faux HDR. I relocated the puck to give it more "action". The puck was originally pretty much inside the glove.

    I like it! The grittiness and colors, or lack thereof, give this a really tough look which is perfect for the game. Interesting about relocating the puck - is that via photoshop?

    It's definitely worth seeing in its larger size!:2thumbs:

    Yup everything done with photoshop. :)
    I have a bunch of new equipment coming in the mail. Cant wait to try it all out. :)

    The before and after are an interesting contrast. The original is ok, but all that white kind of washes out the photo.

    The photoshopped version is much easier to look at and as said, gives a bit of dimension and character to the pic.

    I really like the look of the 'after' pic. It's got more life in it.
