Hats off, everyone, it's the end of an era: the last cassette of Kodachrome expired at the end of November.

K25, shot at a heady 32 ASA to give deep, saturated colours, was my favourite film for 20+ years, before I moved on to digital. I'm sure there are many who would go on using it if they could. Maybe Kodak will release the patents and someone will make a living selling it to the few users who would pay good money to go on, but I reckon it's on its way to oblivion, with 70 years of wonderful pictures as a memorial.

    Sic transit...

My favorite of the Kodachrome film was 64.

Thank you John - an important moment in film history.

I am sure you all know the tune and if not you not the sentiment!

They give us those nice bright colors
They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, Oh yeah
    I got a Nikon camera
I love to take a photograph
So mama don't take my Kodachrome away

Woops, guess I am repeating BBW
