Monday afternoon, after taking care of some errands, I had the chance to stop by Hacklebarney State Park for an hour or so. It wasn't until later that evening when I realized that I had last been inside Hacklebarney's borders exactly one year ago... the eve of Hurricane Sandy. Post-hurricane, I had attempted twice to get in, but once was turned away by police and once decided not to enter since the park was closed "until further notice".

With the exception of a few noticeable tree stumps, fallen trees, and crumpled structures, the park looked intact. Nature shrugs at what devastates Man...

    Anyway, here's a few snaps. 1 & 2: Pentax K-01 + 18-55 3. Oly 14-42 + WA Converter 4. K-01 + Tak 24/3.5 5 & 6. K-01 + 18-55 w/ Hoya NDX8 filter (f/22!) 7. K-01+ 18-55

You captured some nice fall color. It looks like a relaxing day. Thanks.

Nice shots. Hacklebarney fared much better than my local park, Chimney Rock. Trees down everywhere. Still don't know if they made a sound as they fell.

Like the set! Indeed, nature goes on. Recently saw a current satellite photo of Mt St Helens and things have come a long way there.

Thanks all. It's a very pretty area, 978 acres, and notably glacial - rocks everywhere. It's fairly popular with hikers.
