an artist of the floating world
Oh, they be a funny lot in Brizzle. Do I spy the Portway (Steam tug slap bang centre in the dock shot?)
I like you and you are loved! My favourites!
Hmm possibly not, the 17mm is my Bristol lens so there's not much zooming to be done ... however at 2:1 the centre boat seems to be something-"King".
Occasionally a steam train runs on that side (I have a snap somewhere from early May, but I was too preoccupied with other things to walk over the bridge and get it snapped proper, I'll look it out )
Also of course there's a fine example of a Fairbairn Patent Curved Platework Jib Crane over there too ... you can see it here https://www.photographerslounge.org/f92/black-white-monotone-sepia-184/index93.html#post35937
well that's lovely to hear, Briar, but we must both remember you are a married woman ...
Thanks Paul, there was a Bristol based tug company C.J.King and Sons, so possibly one of theirs (John King?)
ok found the train shots (good thing I make two copies of my files, I'd zapped them from my live catalogue ) ... here ... https://www.photographerslounge.org/f21/henbury-steam-bristol-barrie-10500/
Love the theme of the first series.
