Hi BB no experience with the Glass Optic protector however I do use the CLear Touch protector from boxwave.com ... plastic and easy to apply and remove they are NOT high gloss but rather very slightly matte and so are claimed to cut reflections and this they do they do take a slight edge off LCD sharpness so may not be to your likening.

The pens have recessed LCD's so are not so vulnerable if it were me I would protect the X1

Right, John, those film sorts are very nice to use and certainly easy to remove - that's the one concern I have re the Giottos or another I've read about called ACMAXX (this one also seems not to be sold by anyone in the USA, that I can find other than someone on eBay). However, I really want to make sure that if I do put something on this LCD that if anything, it enhances it. I don't have the greatest eyes (I wear progressive lenses) and need to be sure not to add on anything that will take an edge off the sharpness.

    Hello,

I had our Store Manager test and the AEGIS Professional Glass Optic Screen Protector - 12 Layer for 2.7" LCD B&H # GILSP6048 works "perfectly" on the Leica X1.
