    Hi,

I am a digital compact user; interested in upgrading to either a dSLR or a ILC. I was interested in the Panasonic GH2 but disappointed in the selection of lens. I had hoped that Leica would provide zoom lens to support the m4/3.

Features I am interested in are Live Histogram and a compact size.

Please let me know any suggestions you may have, so I can do some research.

    Thanks in advance - Bernie

    Hello,

Leica does not support the 4/3rds group, they share some technologies with Panasonic. The 4/3rd and now micro 4/3 mount is relatively new mount and manufacturers have been reluctant to make lens available that they fear will not sell. To make matter worse, Samsung introduced their own lens mount with the NX-10.

We currently have 24 lens with a Micro 4/3'd mount.

Was there a particular type of lens or focal length range you needed ?

    Hi Chuck,

Thanks for your reply. Sorry for the misunderstanding, I meant the Leica designed Lumix lens. Currently, the only available Leica design lense is the 45mm macro lense. I was hoping that Leica would support the m4/3 like they did the 4/3 market.

As for what type of lense, at this point I'm interested in a pair of bright zoom lens: a wide zoom and a telephoto zoom. I am partial to the 4/3 and m4/3 systems due to their compact size; when compared to APS-C lense systems.

Thanks again for your reply - Bernie

    Hello

You may want to look at the Olympus Zuiko lenses. For years, I've used both OM lens and Leica M series lens and they were very close.

    Hi Chuck,
I was thinking about the E5 but it is much larger than what I want and wish Oly would make an upgrade to the E620. The Pen series is to small. BTW, I know the Zuiko 4/3 lense will work with the GH2 but at the loss of image stabilization.
Thanks for all your help - Bernie
