Very true. Thanks for sharing. Every day I am amazed how many people see constantly looking at their smartphones, while walking the dog, riding a bike, driving a car, waiting for the bus, being in a meeting. The most striking thing I saw was in a Starbucks in Manhattan: two parents being constantly busy with their smart phones while their two young children were bored and asking for attention.
We did not even scratch the surface yet when it comes to the impact this has on our brains. Our brains are in a constant state of stress (for the next message) that will impact people's health. We address this issue in leadership and behavior change trainings.
At the same time I am happy we have those modern technologies that help us connect to others! The trick is to use them wisely. And that's difficult!
