]My RX100 isn't as macro-friendly as my 12mp Canon PowerShot SD950is, which has a convenient macro setting. So I've been using the Intelligent Auto (green symbol) setting on the dial for quick macro and closeup shots. The results are OK, but I was just wondering what settings others use for macro?

    Canon back macro. Strawberry macro.

Do you mean generally or just for the RX100?

You don't need the Macro setting. The RX100 can focus at it's minimum (ie: macro) distance in any mode. So shoot as you normally would with whatever control you want over the settings in any mode.

I've tried PAS, focus on the ring, etc., but for me, Intelligent Auto seem to be the best setting for superb landscapes, portraits, and macro/close ups -- just pull it out of my shirt pocket and take a shot.

i shoot in manual...my practice macro shots were done with the lens at it's widest setting and at the closest focusing range. if needed, i crop....the results have been very nice.
