The K-01 is pretty much my only camera now. Recently added the Tamron 28-75 2.8 zoom - awesome lens, but heavy, and not compact :)

Here are a few portrait type shots at a local zoo with this combo. While I did shoot RAW+Jpeg, these are all processed from the Jpegs, as the camera out was that good.

Nice set! I've often been tempted by that lens, to go with my K5, but I know the weight of it would defeat me. I bow to your superior strength in being able to manage it with the K-01!

Thanks! It's not that heavy!! :) ... I find it balances well with the bulk that's the k-01.

The K-01 was always a good camera but became an outright steal when it was being closed out in the $300 range. The results speak for themselves. I enjoy mine but tend to shy away from using it in bright sunlight because of the rear LCD. How do you find using the LCD in daylight?

LOL! For you, perhaps. I'm just about to put my K-5 up for sale, along with almost all my lenses... I can't even manage its weight anymore! But then, I'm old, and arthritic :)

Love that giraffe horn shot! I can almost feel the texture of the head.

I've never had any complaints with the LCD ... I don't know; I'm almost always wearing darn sunglasses - maybe that helps with the refection and glare?

  8. Great detail, thanks for sharing.

Giraffes are so cool. So are camels but giraffes are friendly and gentle. Nice work.
