Okay, this thread isn't about the quality of the photography, because it was taken through two layers of plastic and two layers of glass.

It's about the birds, the quantity of the birds.

My wife and I put up this new squirrel-proof birdfeeder a couple of months ago. Lately, however, after a couple of snowfalls, a flock of sparrows (and some hawks who are eying the sparrows) have discovered it.

Below is just a faction of the scene this afternoon. There are literally dozens of sparrows in the nearby bushes waiting to take their turn.

Here's a shot (added with the latest edit to this post) with the inner plastic insulating panel removed:

Where's Alfred Hitchcock when you need him?

Cool shot Jock. You need to pick up a GoPro and hang it from the tree.

    Sue,

Pretty much, particularly when I'm not screwing up the optics with layers of plastic. That's 810mm equivalent, f3.5, ISO 100, 1/125th, handheld, but braced with elbows on knees.

    Cheers, Jock

    Bill,

Maybe I shouldn't have posted that sign: "This feeder will be filled with bangers and mash."

    Cheers, Jock

It would have to be fish and chips to get me joining the queue.

Those Pilgrim fathers have got a lot to answer for
