They have also just found 12 "brand new" Spitfires buried in their crates in Burma

Buried at the end of the last war, (WWll), still wrapped in protective materials and in their delivery crates - a squadron

will cost about £500,000 to excavate them etc., - found by a farmer from Sandtoft, Lincs who has been on their trail for a few years after hearing from a US WWll vet about the incident

a Spitfire is probably worth £2m in "running" condition!
 
Wow! That's a proper treasure hunt.

My Grandpa was in Burma for some of his war service, but not with planes. He says he was part of the first mob flown out rather than shipped. But then, he said a lot of stuff, much of which was dubious.
