Yesterday afternoon I received the silver X100T so I took the opportunity to make few shots at an event organized by Montblanc in their boutique in Amsterdam. The thing that struck me most was that several people - mostly women - told me what a nice camera I had and asked me which brand it was. I had never received such compliments in my photographic "career". And the X100T is like its predecessors a beautiful camera indeed.

I had a chat with the photographer, who told me he uses a X100s for his personal work. He still uses Nikon for professional work (D810 and D600).

Anyway, I did not have a chance to play with settings but I did use the classic chrome film simulation mode. Importing in LR 5.7 works and the classic chrome color profile is available for processing raw files.

It was really fun to shoot with the X100T. The 4-way controller works MUCH better than the older 4-way controller of the X-T1 and the electronic rangefinder is very nice. In fact, I was highly impressed with the viewfinder in general. In my memory, it is much better than the x-pro1’s viewfinder.

My first impression of the classic chrome film simulation is that it works well in colorful situations. Herewith some initial shots, all in classic chrome (SOOC jpeg imported in LR). My apologies for the quality but I just took a few snaps and the light was terrible (very bright to make jewelry shine).

Interesting. I have had several people ask me if my X100 was an old film rangefinder. But none of them were women.

it's rare that I don't get comments (or silent stares) when wearing my X100. It's just the best looking camera out there.

    1. This happens to me with the X100 a LOT (and my wife when she's using it), and even sometimes with the XT1, believe it or not. People think the T is a film camera. And it's an awesome phenomenon.
    2. Classic Chrome looks like something I'm going to enjoy VERY much, December can't get here fast enough, c'mon Fuji gimmegimmegimme.
    3. Love that bike lane!

    Although I was there already after X10, X20, x-pro1, and x-t1. ;-)

I like the size and weight of the X100T for travel. The X20 is in my wife's bag and my bag includes the X100T, the X-T1, the 14-23-35-56 Fuji primes, the Zeiss 50mm touit and 135mm APO Sonnar as well as the Fuji 55-200mm zoom. Enough is enough. ;-)

I may sell the much beloved 23mm prime lens because I can easily carry x100t and x-t1 in one bag (which I did when I attended this event. Having said so, a fullframe DSLR may replace the X-T1 but for now I want to stop thinking about equipment and focus on photography.

I used to get compliments from women when I was younger. Then my sons were born. Now they get the compliments! Good thing I bought a X100 a week ago ;-)

Lovely shots!! I love that film simulation mode and checked in my X100 and oh poo I dont have it. Cannot find a plugin anywhere that simulates it either. darn, I may have to sell my X100 and get a T after all.

The Pen E-P5 is my favourite of the current retro-styled cameras, but I find that when I am out with a camera I don't really like having to explain to people what it is, how many megapixels, etc. The E-M1 that I replaced it with is less likely to attract that sort of attention.
