I think they are getting a better idea about what this camera is FOR. It's not good at being a traditional stills camera. But for a new type of interactive photograph, it is perfect. It's a very niche product, but a very cool one.

They've invented the focus pull. It's just that they do in in Post rather than in camera.

I think the ability to have infinity focus at f2.0 is rather remarkable. That's a game changer right there.

but, apparently still only at 2.5Megapixel image resolution.

I'd much rather have a camera with "traditional focussing" with ADDED Lytro functionality -> but only for small focus corrections in a limited depth, e.g. when the camera focussed on someone's glasses instead of their eyes...

By limiting the "refocussing depth", we'd get higher image resolution. Which would make this camera much more useful (at least in my eyes :) )

DPReview says it's about 5mp, which should give a flattened jpg image size of 2240X2240 (at 1:1) or 2736X1824 (at 3:2)

Looks like Lytro isn't giving out any "official" numbers and every website does their own math :)

Thom Hogan admits he is confused, but his numbers are "either 1.25 or 2.5MP"...

Ah well, wait and see... either way, at a price of 1600$ I'm not getting too interested in this one (yet)

I think it is neat and at least this one is a functional camera instead of a square tube thing. I could put it to use for some of the video slide shows I have to make for work{I work in a children's ministry}. I have done the Ken Burns effect which is better than just still, but this gives a new dimension to images. The price is too high but if after a year or two the price comes down I might get one.
