In celebration of our 125th anniversary, we invite you to join this assignment. We live in a fast-paced world that is getting faster all the time. Things happen that the human eye cannot even register. That’s when the power of photography really shines. It captures what other tools cannot. Now more than ever, that power is vital to documenting the world we live in. And that world is changing faster every day. Photography enables us to capture that change, document it for others to see, and explore what that means for ourselves and our communities.
Challenge yourself to find examples of change. Surprise us with your unique points of view, unexpected moments, evocative landscapes, and interesting details. What inspires you? What have you discovered? Help us celebrate the power of photography—a power that connects us and makes us care about our evolving planet. Photography not only captures change, it creates change. Show us.
After the assignment closes on October 22nd, Cory and Sadie will select an Editors' Choice winner who will receive a 5-day National Geographic Photo Workshop in Santa Fe, New Mexico from National Geographic Expeditions and more. (View the Official Contest Rules for details.) The Editors' Choice photo will also be published in National Geographic magazine. Additionally, Your Shot members can vote on entries through October 29; the photo with the most "favorites" will also be published in National Geographic.
