    Hi all,

I have some questions on samsung NX cameras a wonder if you can help. I have a Olympus M1 as main system and want a second body. I am a bit curious about the NX system and would like to give it a try. Here in Italy the NX1100, new, comes at a bargain price so I would like to know if it is a good choice. I would like an EVF but think I can live without it.
My use would be generic photography (travel, monuments, ertc.) Could also use it for landscape and Churches that I love to take photos of.
So my concern is: how is the IQ and high iso? I know it's not as good as the M1 but if it is decent at 1600 iso I would be happy. I shoot jpg so would also like to know how good are the jpgs SOOC.

How does it compare to Nex 3n?

    Thanks all.

I have an NX300, not the 1100, but they share the same sensor (not sure if the same processor). I find the files perfectly usable. Editing them in Zoner studios and Paint Shop Pro has been simple. The NX1100 is extremely small and portable. Throw a pancake lens on it and you have a pocketable APSC sensor in your coat pocket, especially for the price. And you have 3 pancakes to choose from :)

ISO 1600 shouldn't be a problem for these sensors. To be honest I haven't found Samsung's jpeg engine to be quite as capable as some others, but if you experiment with the settings a bit, you can still get very nice results straight out of the camera.

I can't find a lot of high ISO work from the NX series, but from what I see on Flickr (Samsung NX group) I like what I see and prove yet again, the camera is just the tool and now-a-days all cameras are more than capable for most uses :)

Thanks for the replys. I'm seriously thinking getting one. also today I saw a 50% discount on 12-24 and 18-200 lens. Could be a good starting point. Anyone used the 18-200?

I only handled one copy of Samsung 18-200, but it was really bad at all focal lengths even at f/8. I can upload some full-size image files if you're interested.

    Enjoy your new camera!
I have a NX300, like the ergonomics and the picture quality and have no problem with iso 1600 if needed.

I've been pleasantly surprised with the NX300 I got a month ago, surprising to me considering I never knew anything about Samsung 2 months ago. I'm looking at getting the 12-24 as well.

For me too it's a whole new world because I've shot with Nikon FF-m4/3-Pentax-Sony Nex but this one I love.

I just bought one of these too. It's my first camera that I bought as a camera. Amazing image quality considering the size, but what interests me the most is the weight. I am expecting these to begin selling like hotcakes once the quadrotor community realises they exist.

Hi. I have bought the camera three days ago and it was perfect, but now a have some trouble. If I press delete button right after shot, when an image is still on the screen, it makes nothing. I need to go to the gallery to delete the image. Am I the only one who had this trouble?

Do you mean: You press the shutter button to take the picture, the picture you just took shows up on the back of the camera, and you try to delete it right away during 'quick view'? Then you find you can only delete it by pressing the play back button to display pictures taken?

My NX300 doesn't appear to delete photos immediately after I take them when they show on the quick view, but to be honest, I only tried it just now to replicate what you are talking about (my quick view is set to 1 sec) . I actually never delete photos right after I take them, I just reshoot it if I don't like how it came out. I only delete photos after I download them onto my laptop or from the playback/gallery on the camera.

Yes. It worked for a few days and it was handy, but for some reason it doesn't work anymore.

After I have attached a flash to the camera the issue has gone. Pretty silly.
