I like your shots, Dave, they remind me of my childhood, and Christmases with my Mum and Dad (long since passed).
Tonight I went looking for Christmas lights around town. Its only just over a week to go, and I thought that the light freaks would have done their thing by now. They usually begin in early November. I guess increasing electricity costs have put a lot of people out of the game. Even the usual public places where trees are decorated were pretty bare. The only place that was doing what it does every year was a shopping centre a couple of suburbs away... I managed to get a few shots in focus when I finally realised that I had been shooting and forgetting I needed to go manual.
Here are three from tonight, but I am determined to return and do better.
So endearing, Luke. I think for some of us, this time of year makes us remember our childhoods... In my case, I had a very happy one. Love these miniatures.
I agree, she's darling and the innocence and simplicity of a child enjoying Christmas preparations is heart warming... How could even a Scrooge's heart not melt?
