The program of ticking off the local high places continues. On Saturday afternoon we went to Hay Bluff - a 10 minute drive from Hay-on-Wye leads you up to about 1500ft, then you have to climb the final 500 feet to the top of the plateau, from where there are glorious views towards the Shropshire hills in the north, and the Brecon Beacons to the south. On the way back you can even get an ice-cream from the van in the car park. Not exactly wilderness but fabulous all the same.

These first two were JPEGs tweaked in Photogene on my iPad. Not a bad tool at all.

and this is Gospel Pass - the highest pass in Wales apparently. I never knew it was there until Saturday as it's hidden within the folds of the Black Mountains.
