Love this olli - it's like a giant praying mantis reaching across the river. If you have any other full shots of this bridge of peace, I'd love to see them. The lines, repetition of space, reflections, subtle color and that one lone, cream colored building lighting up the horizon on the upper left work beautifully together.
Thanks. Glad you like it. There is a gallery of pictures of this bridge on my smugmug site and I will be expanding it over time. The first four are from the LX3, the rest from my DSLR. The building on the horizon is the Sameba Cathedral. It's the same building that I posted a B&W image of in the B&W, monotone and sepia thread a couple of days ago. There is also a gallery of shots of this on my smugmug site - again a mixture of the LX3 and DSLR.
Just back from a four day trip up to the Eastern Sierra's. Took both my GF1 and the LX5. Got some amazing shots from both. Here's one from the LX5 of an abandoned cafe along Rt 395.
Thanks BB,The cool thing about the LX5 is that it fits where the sun don't shine. Because of this, I can take it to places that my other cameras won't go. They don't like it at work. I really don't get to do things all day because even the GF1 is bigger than comfortable at work. The LX5 is working great. This weekend is the final test as I will use it tomorrow at my B'day party at my daughters home. Should be a taxing situation for me as everyone but me wants ugh....yuch....COLOR.
Dey ain't gotz no klass....
My stupid kids 37 & 33..... Both were raised on Fixer with a side of Stop Bath. Now they both love color. It ain't natural I tell ya... I think I did something wrong in the pre-development stage. Maybe I should have used more Amidol in the soup.... At any rate, I'll do the color thing for them but them Grands....no way...they gonna be B&W and that there is the final word!

What a fantastic door shot.I say door shot because in another forum I contribute in, there is a ''door'' themed thread and this one would have to be up near the top. Well done!
OK, Don - I give up. I am coming down to Philly as soon as I can drive - with my camera and laptop. Superb portrait of your better half! Seriously lovely.
Ya know, all this talk about the cameras is ok but this is what these cameras are for. Making images.
At ISO 1600, this ain't hard to take...
I'll post more tomorrow, watching wrestling at the moment ... Don
Kevin, great color on that from the ground up shot of the Times Square area! That's straight out of the camera with no white balance changes?! Are we talking the Panasonic LX?
