What would you take to a party? I'm not talking about a paid gig, just an informal birthday party in the garage and yard. I'm off to one tonight and will take the XZ, but thought I might also take the K-5 with one prime lens (35/43/50?). I'm hoping to get some decent candids. Maybe I should consider the GRD or X100 instead?

Just curious about what (if anything) others do.

My iPhone 4s. Plenty good for parties, and has networking built in.

Out of the four possible cameras the XZ is the only one with zoom. Low light suitability is more similar than different across the four. The K-5 may be intimidating while the XZ (and GRD) are all more discreet. I don't see the X100 as a party camera so I'd go with your first choice.

Thanks, guys. As it happened, the battery on the K-5 is recharging and so that won't be ready. The XZ is in the bag, I'll throw the GRD in too... hardly notice its presence, really. I'll probably use both, if I get round to it. There's going to be a bunch of people I haven't seen for a couple of years so I may be too damned busy yakking to actually do anything. :)
