I've never been one for those "goodbye" threads you see on forum boards from time to time. I am writing this one mainly to hold myself accountable, lol, and create some embarrassment should I break my own plans. Any rate. It's winter. My GAS runs high this time of year. It's dark in the morning. It's dark at night. This fuels dissatisfaction with my gear. But you know what? No camera looks great at ISO 3200 or 6400! Noise may be better in cameras nowadays, but in low light, colors are all lacking. Everything's grey (or yellow when shooting indoors). This leads me to endless on-line gear comparisons. Surfing the boards ceaslessly. And really just wasting time. If I was contributing more positively, that'd be one thing, but frankly I've made a couple of negative comments lately. Probably just a bit grumpy, with nothing new to share. So, I think I'll step away until at least March. Try to take a break from photo boards, and on-line stuff. Honestly, I have a Canon 6D, RX100 and EOS-M. My photographic life is incredibly blessed, so I want to stop thinking about gear for a while, especially with so little to shoot. Time to go try something else for a while. I'll likely still lurk for a bit, but I'm planning on not posting anything at least until March. Maybe by then I'll have broken some bad internet habits. Maybe I'll see y'all in the spring. Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year, and here's to a wonderful, healthy and blessed 2014 to all my friends on SeriousCompacts. And for the mods -- I hope you guys have an extra helping of holiday cheer, as you've given us a great gift of SC.com for several years now. May that goodness return back to you. Cheers!
