A few shots from my first day with the Ricoh GXR, A12 Mount and an almost 40 year old Leica 40mm lens.

    Great shots, Duane.

Are you needing to do much lens correction (e.g. CA) in post? Wondering how different you are finding this than with your A12 lensors.

CA? I haven't even figured out how to enter the lens info yet into the MY settings. These were DNG files with some Auto settings turned on in Aperture and exported to JPGs.

I was mostly practicing my focusing and trying to figure out which peaking mode to use and I'm finding Mode 1 is working best for this particular lens right now.

The distant Bokeh is a bit harsh in the flower photo but then I knew this would probably be the case from a couple websites that review this kind of stuff. But I'm pretty impressed with what this combo could be.

On my iPhone, the bokeh looks fine! Lots of depth in the photo, particularly the first two. Looking great to me! Keep them coming!

Congratulations on your GXR Mount and Leica lens. I am sure you will have a lot of fun with it but watch out no to end up with way too many lenses, stay away from russian lenses or old LTM lenses in general ;).

Nice first tries with the new kit. Looking forward how you get on with it and see how long it takes you to settle on Mode 2 as the preferred way of focusing (so far everyone has started with Mode 1 just to end up with Mode 2 ) :).

Thanks, Duane. I am just wondering how much lens correction would be necessary, through My settings, or in post. I don't do anything right now with the GXR 28 or 50 modules, but frankly not sure if LR actually does any lens correction for these automatically. Maybe the key is to get a lens that is pretty solid optically?

The post work and the manual focusing still have me a bit intimidated, but look forward to reading more of about your experience versus the AF modules.

I have used quite a lot of different lenses on the GXR mount and the only correction that I have done is a +1 Vignetting correction for the CV 12mm and 15mm lenses, even without this set to +1 it's not a big problem and you will be hard pressed to notice in most shooting conditions.
It is actually surprising how well the GXR mount handles CA with all lenses (so well that there is hardly any), the RD1 and GF1 in particular have massive problems with all lenses even the ones above 35mm.

My GXR body finally arrived today! I look forward to using my copy of this lens on the module.
