First, the setup... I decided to just bring one lens, because I had some 6x6 film to finish off too, which meant I needed a lot of room in the little bag for the Yashica, leaving just enough room for the XT and a lens. I picked the 35, figuring I'd make it work, though I was squeamish about not taking the 14, picturing a smallish sail boat being really crowded. Old Me would've taken the 14. New Me said "take a standard, and figure out how to make it work." New Me also likes having more depth of field control than the 14 allows (essentially none). So I ended up pretty much driving by aperture all day.

At any rate, this felt successful to me. I surprised myself with a lot of these, and that feeling is the only reason to be doing all this, since I don't get paid for it. Here are a few I liked a lot, and I'm putting them here to solicit feedback, good and bad. Lay it on me. Your only constraints are having to deal with the action as it happened... you don't get to have people pose or move around for you. If a rope was in the way and I couldn't entirely avoid it, then that's that, the rope is in the shot. That sorta thing. I just captured what happened as best I could.

The sunset produced some crazy peach colors.

It really, really was. We had almost no wind, which sucked, but it was a great time anyway.
