    This morning, water was pouring over the dam on the north side of Peebles Island near Troy NY.

    Herons were waiting below the dam.

    One of them caught a fish.

    A bald eagle frightened the heron off the fish.

    Considered his options for a moment.

    and flew off with his ill-gotten gains.

    All shot with an FZ200. Nothing up my sleeves, never at any time did I change lenses . . .

    Wow, Jock - that's an impressive reach! How wonderful for you to see the Bald Eagle in action and be able to photograph him! Not that I don't admire the Great Blue Heron. I keep thinking about getting a camera with interchangeable lenses...or maybe one of these.
