Well folks we've officially transitioned to the third trimester. :2thumbs:

For those who were growing despondent there is certainly now light at the end of the tunnel. While for those just finding their feet in this last week or so, here's your chance to run...and fly

I am sort of looking forward to it ending, but not because it's a chore to take photographs every day ... but because I want to vary my lens usage again ... I deliberately selected the 35mm Summicron for this because I have been using it fairly infrequently ... I originally bought it after testing out various focal lengths, using a kit zoom, to see what suited my eye best ... but I think either I misled myself, or the way I see images has changed ... it's become really clear that for me, 35mm on m43 is neither one thing nor another - it's not long enough and it's not short enough ... I'll hang on to it of course, it's a joy to use and draws a wonderful line (plus you never know when I might come across an M in a charity shop for a tenner , or if I get into dire straits it'll pay the rent for a couple of months) ...

    I hear ya Paul....x2.

    1. I'm sort of looking forward to February, as while I've concentrated on the PL25, my new P14 and PL45 have languished in the bag. I know that lenses can easily be switched, but I've tried to stick with the 50mm FoV to keep 'my eye in'. So I can't wait to allow myself the luxury to diversify.

    2. Was tempted to do the same as yourself (with a 35mm lens on MFT) but the FoV is reminiscent of a fast fifty on APS-C which is neither here nor there for me either. Hope that shots provided during this month by Antonio, marlof and myself will convince you of the worth, versatility, and pure joy of the Summilux PL25. Honestly, a pearler of a lens in hand....and top of the pops for the lenses I've used in the least 5 years or so on small or big cameras.

Been a pleasure walking along with you for this journey so far mate!

    thanks Mark.

I could so easily have picked either a 17mm/2.8 or my CV 28/1.9, as either suits my eye nicely, and the Voigtlander draws even more beautifully than the Leica for me ... but I needed a challenge-challenge ... I even considered at one point whether I should limit myself to one ISO, one aperture setting and one scene to capture ... but there's only so many beds of nettles one can roll in ...

... if there was anything I would add to my pile of gear, it would be the Olympus 12mm/2, but unless and until there's a new m43-mount Olympus that substantially improves on the E-P2's noise & DR, AND I feel comfortable that Olympus will surviive AND I can afford both a new body as well as the 12mm (which is staggeringly priced) ... well, that's a long list of ifs and buts ...

I am also looking forward to shooting with something else, not that I do not love the X10, it is just whats the point of a number of toys and you cannot play with them

Still in but behind in uploading for today and yesterday. I promise I'll be there eventually.

I picked up my X100 today and took a couple of shots inside, just for old time's sake. I'm glad I have both cameras.

I'm still here, just a week behind in posting my pics. I got up to date with the processing over the weekend so will try to get them up in the next day or two.

I must say that I am enjoying this "single in ......" a lot more than the previous ones I have done, maybe because all the others have been in our time of year when day length is short and you end up trying to find something interesting in the garden or house at the end of each day that really isn't very interesting at all.

I too find that my other lens is not getting any use this month but as I only have a pair it is not such an issue. I shall even the ledger the next time this challenge is run. I have really enjoyed using a focal length that I have only used sparingly in the past so well done Mark on setting the challenge up.

Lunchtime here, and so far I feel totally uninspired. I have a few in the camera but don't hold out much hope. It's basically cloudy, but with some areas of very thin white cloud leading to extreme contrast in the sky with very dull foregrounds, proving to be quite tricky.
I'm off down the estuary now, it's low tide and I might venture out onto the mud, so if I don't reappear I've sunk without trace.

I've woken with a bit of a bug, enough to make me feel swim-headed, dopy, achy and unwilling to do much, but not enough to need medication or a day in bed. Bah.
It's a blue sunny blowy day and I suppose I had better get round the common for a walk.

It's on the list BB, although an f/5.6 lens is not the best for the task . Now as for todays, well that was captured within 2 minutes of leaving my cottage, that's serendipity 4 days running. I did go on down the estuary, tested out the mud and found an unexpected shot for another day, suddenly it's all coming good

I just went to leave comments in the SIJ gallery and 3 in a row (all different users) had no comment boxes (and yet still had comments on them). Any idea what's up? Is it just me?

Luke, I find that having two windows open is very helpful with the way we need to leave comments now.

Paul, I hope you are on the mend quickly! Feel free to shoot pictures of your bowl of soup or hot cup of tea. Feel better!

    Yea for you, Barrie!

Must go out and enjoy the snow before our forecasted rains come tomorrow.:frown:

Day 24 and I had one or two embryonic ideas, but the curtains of rain sweeping across the fields this morning have rather blown those out of the water, so it's back to the drawing board, now if only I can remember what I'd planned for just such a day.
