Still experimenting with Paintshop Pro x4. Honest feedback wanted.
This works pretty well to 'focus' the viewer's eye on the face and the eyes in particular. A giveaway that the blur is not genuine is the edges of the hat brim that should be sharp but begin to blur with the background. This can be tackled better using layers and a layer mask. That's being picky and overall the effect is working.
Thank you. I agree that the right side of the hat should be in focus. I didn't see that until you pointed it out. I will have to get over my fears of layers. I tried it once and had a mess.
it's a bit of a learning curve, but just keep fighting through. So many new techniques open up to you once you "get" the concept of layers.
