Those are some awesome photos. Scary looking too. Almost like traveling back in time to the prehistoric era.

I have lived within 25 miles of erupting mount Redoubt in Alaska, and nothing i have seen comes close to this. Thanks for the post

That's what I felt too. I know the area quite well (my wife is Chilean) and am a bit envious of the the photographer.

Amazing photographs. However, I do not believe they are the work of a single photographer.

  7. Wow, you are right. I really like the lightning strike ones.

Oh I agree, I think it's unlikely: so I will modify what I wrote to: I envy the photographers...

Thanks for sharing that link. Simply incredible.
I agree with the above - that it looks like work from at least three contributors. But my god, what a collection they have put together.
    It's feels apocalyptic!

Astounding - beautiful and apocalyptic, yes. At times I felt like Armageddon was upon us, or a atom bomb had exploded... The photograph that hit me the most was the one showing the two women, one of whom is hugging her child...and there's a car or truck driving along... The idea of being so close in reality to something like that must be terrifying.

P.S. As Don pointed out, it's frame 29.

Yes, that's the one I felt strongly about but I hadn't noticed the frame number. Thank you Don.

Thought I'd share Boston.com's outstanding Big Picture feature on this volcano.

Is that a UFO on Image #8 (lower right part of the sky) ?
