I have not had a focused opportunity to go take pictures with my new NEX 3, but here are a few from around the yard...
And a couple more.
The NEX is an interesting camera and I see real potential. The ISO performance and dynamic range are excellent. It creates files that are perfect for B&W work, with lots of headroom for manipulation. The menu has improved and is easily learnable once you customize and get to know it. The hinged screen is very useful.
The 18-55mm lens is fine but not great. I'm still getting to know it.
Two weaknesses that I see are the lens selection and the lack of an EVF. The LCD is fantastic, but I prefer an EVF at times. I'm optimistic that in the future Sony will release a high quality EVF or NEX with built-in EVF. And I hope it is not too long before we see a wider selection of lenses with at least a few high quality lenses.
This was to be my family cam but it might get more use than that! I've ordered an adapter so that I can use my Zeiss 50mm C Sonnar lens. That lens renders beautiful in B&W so I'm anxious to try it with the dynamic range of the NEX.
