......and put up a parking lot .
Taken on a Canon A650 compact
Say it isn't so, Dewi!!
Seriously nice photos taken with a compact!
Not sure if you know of this place or not, BB? Lake Louise is situalted north west of Banff in Alberta, just near the start of the Icefilelds Parkway. We rode out there on hired motorbikes from Vancouver looking forward to the peace and tranquility of the place, based on photos we'd seen of it. It's probably one of the most picturesque places I've ever been to on my travels, but just behind me from where I took this shot is the biggest most intrusively repulsive hotel you can imagine, with it's rather large car park. It's actually been there for many years but it still doesn't make it any easier to forgive the building of something so incongruous in such a beautiful setting, it's an absolute eyesore. We didn't stay long, only to fire off a few shots (the bright red hire boats on the lake have been cloned out by the way) then we climbed back on the bikes and rode out to Jasper via the Columbia Icefields - an altogther more peaceful experience.
Some photos of the place here
I do know of Lake Louise, though I have never had the pleasure of going there - so thank you, Dewi.
What can we say about hotels...some fit in better than others. :-(
