Three Serious Compacts on the Highline in New York

Location
Hawaii
Name
Joe Marquez
Took the Sony Rx1, Nikon V1 and 32/1.2 lens and Ricoh GR onto the Highline today.
The Sony and Nikon shot wide open and the Ricoh at f/6.3.
The Nikon image is cropped a bit.
Hope you enjoy the different look of each camera.

I never think to try narrow DOF shooting in that type of situation but I like your results when you do Joe. I had a studio apt in Chelsea on 19 just off of 9th in April of last year and I spent a LOT of time on the Highline. I used all sorts of serious compacts there, including an X100, GXR-28, LX5, X-Pro 1, and OMD. Great facility. Anyone who spends any time in the City really should check it out - runs from about 14th down in the Meatpacking district up to somewhere in the low 30s, with lots of stairs leading to and from it... Here's one of my favorite from the Highline, with the OMD and 12mm lens:

Great shot Ray. Sometimes I like to shoot shallow just to see if I can do it. Not easy. How fun to live so close to this special place. Would love to see more of your work from this area.
