very cool, Alf. I'm guessing from the motion of the stars that the sky is actually quite dark and that this is a pretty long exposure.

I saw your top one over on Flickr very recently - what a view, Alf! Can you tell us a little about these mountains and where you were?

Sure. While we are largely a family on the move, going a little southeast each generation, my ancestors on my father's side lived a few centuries on the eastern Dolomites and my sister (the last born there in the fifties) bought a little place there and usually invites us over for Epiphany.
