How this is played? Each member gets one guess. The answer will be revealed on the following Tuesday. The first correct guess has the honor of submitting the image for the next challenge. Sometimes there will be more than one thing in the photo or more than one way to accurately describe what the photo represents. The original poster will be the final judge of who is "most correct". Have fun!!!

Basking sharks are the things of nightmares. So I think that the photo instead is of cool white bed sheets folded fancy.

Off-topic, I know, but I've got to speak up in defence of the basking shark;)... they might be huge and strange-looking, but they're harmless to humans. Of course, they're rather more scary if you happen to be a small fish, or zooplankton... :)

I think I know it, but I won last time. And if I'm right, it's about as far from a shark as you can get.

Whoops! Totally forgot about it. I give some credit to Bill for trying to steal a win from Matero by narrowing down what exact shark it is, but it is not a Basking shark (Cetorhinus maximus)

It is a Blacktip Shark (Carcharhinus limbatus), so Matero has secured the win and the right to post the challenge for this week.

You can read about them here...... Blacktip Shark - Shark Pictures - Blacktip Facts - National Geographic

and here is the full shot that I took the crop from (with a different processing)....

Worth a try ;) I was trying to work out how a Milwaukee boy could get so close to a shark...!

    Congratulations Matero!

Thanks :D Though I think we have to relieve Matero from the burden of being confused with me; it's Matt, quite simply :) I think this whole think started when we both took part in the SiJ this year, and is partly caused by my way of signing my posts ("M.") ... No problem at all, just a clarification.

    Matt (usually just M.)
