you should be able to figure it out...
Fuji seems to have snuck a 28mm conversion lens in under the rug for X100 owners for whom 35mm just wasn't quite cutting it:

FUJIFILM Wide Conversion Lens WCL-X100 | FUJIFILM X Accessories

And firmware 1.30 to work with it, plus a couple of other small fixes:

Firmware for FinePix X100 | Fujifilm Global

This lens leaves me with very mixed feelings. If they'd come out with it before I bought the X-Pro 1, I might have saved a boatload of money. OTOH, I might not have the X-Pro 1 now either. I'm happy with where I am but might have been very close to as happy if I could have used my X100 at a 28mm FOV...

Aw.. why'd they have to go and do that? I've been containing my X100 lust based on the lens not being wide enough :frown:

Interesting - now lets see what the pricing structure is and if it is justified?

This was on Photography Monthly magazine today:

"The WCL-X100 is expected to go on sale in August for around £249 but this is subject to change".

Guess it must be brandy brand new; don't see any listings with the usual suspects.

I read this via my iPhone and almost logged on, I was so excited! I hope it's not super duper expensive. I am extremely interested in this...why? I love that slightly wider angle...yes, my X10 has it, but I'd love to have the IQ of my X100 at that wider angle when I want it. Fingers crossed on the price tag.

    Thanks, Ray...I think.

P.S. Oops, I forgot to mention the firmware update, too. Have you done it yet, Ray...anyone?

I wonder if they have a 1.4x tele adapter in the works as well?!

And it comes with a snap-on lens cap - that's surely worth the expense.

Seriously, it does look mighty good to me.

Wow, this is so cool. $350, although pricey for a converter, is still cheaper than buying the XPro1 + the 18/2 lens. Now I might really hold off on "re-getting" the XPro1 for a little longer.

According to the description at the link Luke provided, it does sound like a fancy converter. It's not just a couple of pieces of glass thrown together.

I am curious as to how the frames line in the OVF will change with a 28mm angle of view now. The only blurb about the viewfinder doesn't say much at all:

Looks like the new firmware will also apply in camera corrections, which is nice.

Looking forward to the converter. And yes, a 1.4X teleconverter would be awesome too!

Somehow they have made the camera even better looking than it already was.

I'm thinking my default configuration would be "lens on", at least for starters

Thanks Luke. I'm still confused though ... so the yellow bracketed area is only 80% of what the captured area will be?

Why would you want that ?
The example shown of the boat has changed from a standard 'slightly wide angle lens' to a 'slightly more wide angle lens'. Neither are really wide.
My guess is if the photographer bothered to take one step back ( without falling in the river ) he would capture the back end of the boat on the left side without the wide attachment.
If the wide attachment increased the view from 35mm wide to 24 or 18mm it would make more sense.
If you bought that lens, my guess is that the next step would be to consider a telephoto attachment ---------
You might as well have bought an SLR with interchangeable lenses to start with ?
I obviously don't own an X100 but I thought the whole point of that camera was immediacy and a need to concentrate on taking images unhindered by extra lenses, attachments and other stuff.
If you wanna get closer - walk forward
If you wanna wider angle - step backwards.
    No ?
