Both are interesting images.
At the risk of sounding prosaic it just looks to me like a different WB setting...
It also looks like a lot of snow.
Love the first one. I don't miss snowy winters except for the photographic possibilities. I hung up my snow shovel at age 18 and never looked back.

When I shot the originals, both were shot with auto white balance. I tried fiddling with the WB on the OMD to get the color right, but nothing fixed it while I was shooting. The tweak to the OMD image above was done using, of all things, Picasa.
IMHO, the secret to happiness is upstate New York this time of year is a large, powerful snowblower that starts easily . . .
