Zoom with my feet? I don't think so!

    That's a great shot - and a very precarious spot to stand! The heron must've been quite sure of its own capabilities to land there...

    The detail on our fine feathered friend isn't bad at all for 799mm! Nice work.

    BTW, that was shot at 1/200s, f5.2, ISO 100, handheld. Apparently the image stabilization works!

    If you aren't getting your feet wet, then you're not close enough!

    Never really put too much stock into zooming with your feet argument - wonder how far you have to back up to get a fish-eye view?:rolleyes:

    Nice picture and a good example of what superzooms are all about!
